Iran has intensified its pushback against the United States and regional rivals amid a surge in attacks that have heightened concerns of broader conflict.

On Wednesday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released footage of overnight strikes targeting a US military base in Jordan, describing the attacks as retaliation for "aggressive actions." Jordan reported intercepting all five ballistic missiles fired during the strike. In response, US President Donald Trump warned that US forces would strike Iran hard, stating in an interview with Fox News, “They’re going to get a beating,” and indicated that his administration was considering further actions against Iran-aligned groups in the region, including in Iraq.

Inside Iran, authorities reported a missile strike on a border area in the West Azerbaijan province on Wednesday afternoon, with no fatalities reported. Shortly thereafter, Israel announced that a drone launched by the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah targeted an Israeli military vehicle in occupied southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Tehran-aligned Houthis in Yemen launched significant attacks against Saudi Arabian oil facilities and Saudi-linked vessels in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. Concurrently, the US and Saudi Arabia conducted joint strikes on Iran-aligned forces in Iraq, resulting in at least 20 fighters killed.

On Tuesday, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, rejected an Omani proposal for a 50-50 management split of the Strait of Hormuz. He referenced a British-French initiative involving 34 countries aimed at de-mining operations in the strait and warned that any foreign warship, equipment, or vessel attempting such operations would be considered a “legitimate target.”

Additionally, Iran is assessing its response to a recent war-related incident in the Caspian Sea, where a Ukrainian military strike on a vessel resulted in one death and several injuries.

These developments reflect escalating tensions and a complex web of military actions involving Iran, the US, and regional actors.
