Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) is facing increasing pressure to step down following allegations of abuse made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno. On Monday, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) told MeidasTouch’s Pablo Manríquez in a brief interview that Miller "shouldn’t be in office" and emphasized that "everybody should be held accountable."

Scott stopped short of explicitly calling for Miller’s resignation, suggesting instead that "the best thing is the public’s going to take them out of office." He also said Miller "ought to be very transparent" and "let the voters make a decision," referencing comments from Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio).

Other Republican senators have voiced support for Miller’s resignation. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) said, "Based upon what I know, yes," when asked if Miller should step down, though he noted he had not heard Miller’s side of the story but trusts the Moreno family. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) stated she does not know Miller personally but supports resignation if Moreno believes it is warranted.

Miller told The Wall Street Journal on Monday that he recently spoke with the president, who he said was "very supportive" of him. He also stated, "I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake. I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does."
