Moreno stated on X that Miller "should not serve in the House of Representatives" and emphasized that Miller "needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake."

Moreno expressed that he had hoped the matter would remain private but said Miller's "increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible." He described witnessing the situation unfold publicly as "horrific," especially with an innocent two-year-old girl caught in the middle.

The senator's statement followed a livestream by Miller earlier that day, in which the congressman denied all allegations, saying, "No criminal charge has ever been filed against me. Every single one of these allegations were already investigated, and I cooperated fully every single time because I had nothing to hide and I have nothing to hide now." Miller also insisted he would remain in the race for re-election.

According to the New York Times, Miller's ex-wife, Emily Moreno, has accused him of holding a gun to her head.

As recently as Friday, July 31st, 2026, Senator Moreno had refrained from commenting directly on the accusations made by his daughter, Emily Moreno, against Miller.
