Ali Khan, 62, a school bus aide in Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, misconduct of minors, indecent assault, and related offenses. The charges stem from allegations that Khan inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl with special needs and appeared to take photographs and videos of her using his cellphone.
The incidents reportedly occurred on Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, while the student was riding a bus to Bensalem High School's extended school year program. Surveillance footage from inside the bus showed Khan directing the girl to a specific seat and allegedly touching her inappropriately while securing her seatbelt and after she was seated.
The girl's parents contacted police on July 30 to report the alleged abuse. Khan was held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post 10% of his $500,000 bail.
Bensalem Police commended the victim for her courage in coming forward. Meanwhile, the Bensalem Township School District confirmed that Khan was immediately removed from service and the district pending the outcome of criminal and administrative investigations.
