Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kans.) is projected to win the Republican primary and will face Democrat pastor Adam Hamilton in the Kansas Senate race this November, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).
Marshall, seeking a second term, is expected to have defeated Arch Naramore in the GOP primary held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The non-partisan Cook Political Report has classified the race as "solid" for Republicans well ahead of the general election.
As of July 2026, DDHQ reports that Marshall has spent just over $1 million on his campaign and raised approximately $6.1 million for his reelection bid. He has also received a "full" and "total" endorsement from former President Donald Trump.
Adam Hamilton, who is anticipated to emerge from a competitive Democratic primary, has raised $3.6 million since April to challenge the incumbent. Hamilton is the senior pastor of the largest United Methodist congregation in the United States and aims to break Kansas's long streak without a Democratic senator; the state last elected a Democrat to the Senate in 1932, according to NPR.
Reflecting on the election's significance, Marshall stated during a July appearance on Fox Business, "And this is so important to our faith in our democracy."
