President Donald Trump and some White House officials are reportedly privately hoping Miller steps aside from the race. However, Miller, who has vehemently denied the accusations, told the president he has no plans to leave the race.

On Tuesday morning, Miller announced he would file paperwork to initiate a congressional ethics investigation into his own conduct to clear his name. He stated on X, "We will be providing the committee all necessary documents needed for a detail[ed] examination. The accusations continue to change, but my facts stay the same. I am looking forward to my colleagues reading everything for themselves."

Earlier, Miller expressed to CBS News that dropping out of the race would signify a decline in American values. President Trump described Miller as a "very good person" and said he would let the families involved resolve the situation.
