On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, during the fifth day of testimony at Plymouth Superior Court, a hospital psychiatrist agreed that Lindsay Clancy could communicate, make plans, and carry them out even while experiencing psychosis. This concession is significant in the ongoing murder trial where Clancy faces three counts of murder related to the deaths of her three young children in 2023 at their Duxbury home.

Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, pressed the psychiatrist to confirm that a person can act intentionally and rationally despite psychosis. The expert, Dr. Shah, agreed, stating that a person in psychosis can still communicate with others.

Clancy claims she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time and is not criminally responsible.
