Tsang Wai-ching, 40, the alleged ringleader in a fatal assault during a bar fight in Hong Kong, appeared at Kowloon City Court on Tuesday, August 4th, to face a murder charge. The charge relates to the attack on 32-year-old Issac Yeung Kam-chuen at an upstairs bar on Cameron Road in Tsim Sha Tsui on July 25th.

Tsang, who said he was unemployed, claimed he had been physically abused by police since his arrest on August 1st, after spending a week on the run. He described the police cell conditions as "filthy," complaining of poor sanitary conditions including a clogged toilet infested with flies. Due to these conditions, Tsang urged the court to send him to prison instead of returning him to police custody pending two identification parades scheduled later this week.

Also brought to court was 52-year-old engineering manager Cheng Yuk-lun, who is accused of assisting Tsang by arranging getaway cars to help him evade justice.

These allegations and requests were presented during the court proceedings in Hong Kong, highlighting concerns raised by the defendant about his treatment while in police custody.
