An adult man wearing a pink women’s one-piece swimsuit and matching swim cap at a Han River swimming pool in Seoul has become the center of an online debate. The photo circulated on social media on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, with a caption describing the visitor as a public nuisance.

The image shows the man from behind as visitors cool off during a summer heatwave. The original poster expressed surprise at the man’s choice of swimwear upon arriving at the pool.

One commenter, claiming to have been present at the pool, wrote that police escorted the man out. However, this police response could not be independently confirmed.

Public reactions were mixed. Some criticized the man’s appearance and expressed discomfort, while others defended his choice as a matter of personal freedom, suggesting observers could simply ignore it.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government operates six Hangang Park facilities along the Han River, including swimming pools at Yeouido and Ttukseom, as well as water parks at Jamsil, Gwangnaru, Nanji, and Yanghwa. These facilities opened on June 19th and attracted more than 260,000 visitors as of July 26th, 2026.

Residents have been flocking to these pools to escape the record-breaking heatwave affecting the region.
