At least 11 people have died and dozens more were wounded after Ukraine launched drone strikes on a Russian Black Sea resort and the annexed peninsula of Crimea on Monday, August 3rd, 2026, according to officials.

A drone attack on the seaside village of Arkhipo-Osipovka in Russia's southern Krasnodar region killed seven people, including three children, as reported by the crisis task force for the region on social media. Krasnodar region Governor Venyamin Kondratyev confirmed the strike, stating Ukraine had targeted the Black Sea resort with a drone. Unverified social media footage showed what appeared to be a drone crashing into a busy beach at Arkhipo-Osipovka while tourists looked on.

The Russian health ministry said 21 people, including three children, were rushed to hospital, with nine in serious condition. Specialist medical teams were dispatched to the area.

In a separate strike, four people were killed in Crimea, according to Sergey Aksyonov, the Moscow-installed governor of the annexed peninsula, who posted the information on Telegram.

Additionally, another Russian attack on Ukraine's southern Odesa region wounded 13 people, Governor Oleg Kiper said.

The United Nations has reported an increase in civilian deaths throughout 2026 amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has lasted over four and a half years without a peace agreement.
