The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has resulted in more than 10 deaths as both sides continue to exchange heavy attacks on Monday, August 3rd, 2026.

Local officials report that at least nine people have been killed in Russia and three in Ukraine amid the intensified fighting. Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of Russia’s southern Krasnodar region, stated that a Ukrainian drone attack on the Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik caused falling debris that killed six people and wounded 40 others.

Hours earlier, Sergei Aksyonov, the Moscow-installed governor of Russian-occupied Crimea, said via Telegram that three people were killed and two wounded in a Ukrainian attack overnight, though he did not provide further details.

In Ukraine, a Russian strike targeted a gas station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing at least three people. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported on Telegram that the attack caused a fire damaging the gas station and nearby vehicles.

Additionally, Russia’s Defence Ministry announced that its forces captured the settlements of Bilyi Kolodiaz and Uspenivka in the Kharkiv region of eastern Ukraine.

The conflict, now in its fifth year, shows no signs of abating. Independent watchdogs have also noted that the online marketplace Wildberries sells items considered dual-use, including used military helmets, personal protective gear, bulletproof vests, and fiber optic cables used in drones, according to MacAlpine.
