Two men, both in their 30s, have been charged with murder after a man in his 20s was found dead at a bus stop in Australind, Western Australia's South West.
Police reported that paramedics were called in the early hours of Sunday morning to a bus stop in Australind, approximately 158 kilometres south of Perth, where they found an unresponsive man with critical injuries. The victim was taken to Bunbury Hospital but was declared deceased.
Authorities allege that just after 1 a.m., an altercation occurred in a car park on The Promenade in Australind. When the 29-year-old victim walked away from the area, the two accused men followed him and allegedly assaulted him with a pole. This attack is the basis for the murder charges.
On Sunday morning, police cordoned off a large section near The Boulevard in Australind, including a car park and two bus stops, while officers conducted their investigation. Two damaged cars were also seen behind police tape in the car park of a shopping complex.
The two men were arrested on Sunday and formally charged with murder on Monday morning.
