Norwegian rider Sigrid Haugset launched a decisive solo attack with 85 kilometres remaining during the third stage of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, covering the challenging 156.5-kilometre route from Geneva to Poligny. She maintained her lead to the finish line, winning the stage and taking over the yellow jersey.

The stage included four categorized climbs, with Haugset first to crest the category two Col de la Savine and later the category four Côte de Chaux-Champagny. She finished 1 minute and 24 seconds ahead of Lotte Kopecky, who was followed by a nine-rider group more than two minutes behind.

Previous yellow jersey holder Lorena Wiebes, who had won the first two stages, was 13 minutes behind the main bunch at one point and ultimately finished over 20 minutes behind Haugset, dropping to 67th in the general classification.

In the overall standings, Haugset leads by 2 minutes and 2 seconds over Kimberley Le Court of Mauritius, with 2023 Tour champion Demi Vollering in third place, four seconds further back.

The final 10 kilometres saw a close contest between Haugset and Kopecky, but Haugset increased her lead by standing on her pedals to secure the victory.
