Israeli forces reportedly killed more than two dozen Palestinians in Gaza over the weekend, while also violating Lebanese airspace more than 100 times, according to UN agencies and peacekeepers on Monday, August 3rd, 2026.

The UN relief agency OCHA reported that Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and shooting continued across the Gaza Strip, with most strikes targeting western Gaza where nearly all of the enclave's 2.1 million residents are concentrated. An Israeli attack near a Gaza hospital on Saturday destroyed critical medical supplies amid shortages of key medicines and essential items, exacerbated by soaring food prices.

Despite an increased number of commercial and humanitarian trucks reaching Gaza, a World Food Programme survey found that high market prices make basic food items unaffordable for four in 10 households.

The Gaza Ministry of Health documented more than 150 fatalities in July, including dozens of civilians, marking the highest monthly death toll since the start of the year. In the occupied West Bank, July tied with March as the deadliest month for Palestinians in settler attacks since the war erupted in October 2023.

More than 4,300 people have been killed and 12,200 injured in Lebanon since Iran-backed Hezbollah militants joined the regional conflict triggered by US-Israeli attacks on March 2nd, according to national authorities.

Last Friday, the US-led Board of Peace, backed by the UN Security Council and established under a 20-point peace plan, announced an agreement to move toward disarmament and the next stage of the ceasefire, with Hamas declaring acceptance of the roadmap. However, the Israeli Government expressed “serious security concerns” and stated it would not withdraw from Gaza ahead of full disarmament.

UN aid agencies noted that humanitarian needs remain high in Gaza, even though food insecurity has slightly eased following the October Israel-Hamas ceasefire that ended a two-year war which left much of Gaza destroyed and displaced most Palestinians.
