Canberra Grammar School is investigating an incident where male students created and shared a list ranking female students based on their appearance within a year level. The ABC obtained a heavily redacted copy of the list containing 100 names, featuring a colour-coded ranking system derived from a grading scale.

The school's head, Justin Garrick, informed staff and parents on July 24, 2026, that "demeaning commentary" had been circulating among the cohort. He emphasized that the school was taking the matter "very seriously" and that the investigation was ongoing, which is why students had not yet been directly addressed.

Since the list became known, the school has been contacted by families and has sent a second email to parents acknowledging the impact on many students. The communication stressed the importance of respect and dignity within the school community and encouraged positive collaboration moving forward.

Additionally, a letter to parents confirmed that Canberra Grammar School is providing support to students affected by the incident, including access to the school's psychologist and chaplain.

The ABC has chosen not to disclose the specific year level involved.
