A Southern California sheepdog has earned praise as an honorary first responder after police drone footage captured the dog helping clear the way for an emergency helicopter in Laguna Beach, California.
On Friday, the Laguna Beach Police Department shared drone video showing officers and firefighters responding to an emergency in the city's foothills while preparing a landing zone for a helicopter. During the operation, a white sheepdog was seen herding a nearby group of goats away from the landing area, ensuring the helicopter's path remained clear.
The drone footage shows the dog weaving behind the herd as dozens of goats move up the hillside and away from the helicopter's approach. At one point, the camera zooms in on the sheepdog happily trotting across the hillside with its tail wagging after completing its impromptu mission.
“The sheepdog stepped up and helped guide a group of goats out of the way so the units could work,” the department noted.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Laguna Beach Police Department and the Laguna Beach Fire Department for additional details about the emergency response, including the reason for the helicopter deployment.
