France’s massive wildfire in the Gironde region near Bordeaux has been contained, with nearly 3,000 firefighters still deployed to manage the situation. The blaze, which has scorched an area four times the size of Paris, forced the evacuation of approximately 200,000 people. Most of those evacuees have now returned home, although some parts of the fire continue to burn.

The containment marks a significant step in controlling one of the largest wildfires in the region. Firefighters remain vigilant to prevent any resurgence.
