On Friday, July 31st, 2026, jurors in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial visited the Massachusetts home where Clancy strangled her three children in January 2023. The rare site visit allowed jurors to see firsthand the environment where the tragedy unfolded, including the basement where the children died.

The jurors were escorted in groups of six after being driven past two businesses relevant to the case. During the approximately 40-minute visit, they also viewed the yard where Clancy was found after jumping from a second-story window. Journalists were kept away by a police barricade, though court officers were seen escorting jurors along the former driveway of the Clancy family home.

Clancy did not attend the visit and has not seen the house since the day of the killings. Her defense lawyers maintain that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, a rare mental illness linked to stress, sleep deprivation, and hormonal changes following childbirth. They do not dispute that Clancy killed her children but argue that she had bipolar disorder, which worsened after taking antidepressants prescribed after the birth of her third child. According to her lawyers, Clancy believed a voice was telling her to “kill the children so you can kill yourself.”

Lindsay Clancy is now paralyzed from the waist down after attempting suicide that night.

Such juror site visits have occurred in other high-profile cases, including the 2023 murder trial of South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh, the 2022 sentencing trial of Parkland, Florida, school shooter Nikolas Cruz, the 2015 Massachusetts murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, and the 1995 murder trial of OJ Simpson.
