On Saturday, July 25th, 2026, Russian forces launched ballistic missile strikes on an exhibition near Kyiv showcasing drone technology, killing 10 people and injuring around 100, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The event was attended by prominent members of Ukraine's defence sector.

In addition to the attack near Kyiv, five people were killed by Russian glide bombs in the eastern city of Sloviansk, and early Saturday military officials confirmed the deaths of two men in the northern city of Sumy.

On Friday, a Ukrainian strike killed six people and wounded 26 in the Russian city of Kirov, located more than 1,000 kilometers behind the front line.

Ukraine's Defence Ministry stated that high-precision long-range weaponry was used on the site where drones intended for targeting civilian sites in Russia were being demonstrated. There were initial concerns for the safety of Defence Ministry adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov, also known as Flash, and Lyuba Shypovych, involved in developing technology for the Ukrainian army.

President Zelensky said the incident is under investigation, and Ukraine's prosecutor-general is working to determine who authorized the event and what safety measures were in place.

On Friday evening, Zelensky also reported receiving intelligence that Russia was preparing another massive missile strike, potentially within the next 48 hours.

After months of drone attacks on oil depots and refineries, Kyiv has stated it is targeting logistics hubs, such as those operated by Wildberries, to disrupt supplies of military equipment to the Russian army.
