On July 3, 2026, President Donald Trump announced that he had pardoned six individuals convicted of federal vehicle emissions violations tied to the Clean Air Act. Trump described these individuals as victims of political persecution by the Biden Administration, stating on Truth Social, “It is my Great Honor to have just signed Pardons for six people who were persecuted by the Biden Administration, and were in, or being sent to, prison, for ‘fixing their car.’” He added that this was part of the “Weaponization and Stupidity” endured during the Biden presidency and declared, “I AM SETTING THEM ALL FREE, RIGHT NOW!”

In addition to these pardons, Trump is reportedly considering clemency requests from several celebrities, including rapper Sean “DiddyCombs. Combs is currently serving a four-year sentence in a federal prison in New Jersey after being convicted last year on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Trump told The New York Times in January that Combs had written him a letter seeking a pardon. However, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News that the president has not yet made a decision on Combs or other high-profile clemency requests. Combs and other celebrities were not included in the recent slate of pardons.

The White House has not confirmed whether Combs is under active consideration for clemency.
