Lee Greenwood, famed for his patriotic anthem "God Bless the USA," told Fox News Digital he is "very proud" to stand alongside President Donald Trump during the Fourth of July celebrations commemorating America's 250th anniversary. Greenwood described feeling "flattered and honored" to be part of the milestone event.

Reflecting on his musical journey, Greenwood shared, "I'm a farm kid from California and music was in my life since I was like 10 or 11, 12 years old." He explained that touring across the United States inspired him to write his iconic songs, including "God Bless the USA" and "Proud to be an American."

Greenwood emphasized the nonpartisan nature of his performance, stating he would not consider political affiliations while singing. He also noted his longstanding support for Trump, saying he and his wife, Kimberly Payne—who was involved with the Miss USA pageant for nearly 30 years—have been friends with the president for a long time.

The singer will perform in Washington, D.C., as part of the events marking the nation’s 250 years of republic. Greenwood highlighted the significance of the celebration, saying, "This is celebrating America, this wonderful place that we have for 250 years of our republic."
