This weekend marks the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence from Great Britain, coinciding with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Cadillac, the newest American team in Formula 1, is celebrating the occasion with a special stars-and-stripes livery on their cars throughout the race weekend.

The British Grand Prix is a key event on the F1 calendar, with the Sprint race and Grand Prix qualifying scheduled on July 4th, Independence Day. Cadillac’s patriotic design is their second special livery this season, following a black-and-white scheme used in Miami.

While the livery has drawn attention for its boldness and humor—running a distinctly American design on British soil during the U.S. birthday celebrations—the team faces challenges on the track. Both Cadillac cars retired early in the previous Grand Prix due to reliability issues, with Valtteri Bottas retiring after two laps and Sergio Perez after four. It remains unlikely that the team will contend at the front during this weekend’s sessions.

Despite the competitive struggles, Cadillac’s Fourth of July tribute at Silverstone stands out as a memorable moment in the sport.
