Mitch McConnell Shares Major Health Update

Mitch McConnell announced Thursday that he plans to return to the Senate after over 50 days of hospitalization.

McConnell’s latest hospitalization was due to a fall in his Washington home, where he was briefly left unconscious June 14.

McConnell later developed pneumonia while he was being rehabilitated and has since been absent from the Senate.

“Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home,” McConnell said in a statement to reporters. “Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I’ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff.” (RELATED: Mitch McConnell’s Docs Give Health Update About Elderly Senator)
