Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signing of Egypt forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on a season-long loan, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2026-27 season.

According to British media reports, the obligation to buy is set at a guaranteed £50 million ($68 million), with an additional £10 million in potential add-ons.

The 27-year-old Marmoush expressed his excitement about joining Tottenham, stating, “I’m so excited to get started with the team, and I can’t wait to meet the fans.” He added, “Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and the project was very attractive to me. I’ve spoken with the head coach [Roberto De Zerbi], I loved what he had to say, and I’m sure our passion for the game will go very well together.”

Marmoush had a mixed tenure at Manchester City, impressing during his debut 2024-25 campaign but struggling for consistent playing time last season behind established players such as leading striker Erling Haaland. He scored three goals in 21 Premier League matches last term, a decline from seven goals in his first half-season at the Etihad Stadium.

Roberto De Zerbi, who took over as Tottenham’s head coach in March and helped the club avoid relegation, aimed to strengthen the squad’s attacking options. This signing follows Tottenham’s significant investments in midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, along with defender Jan Paul van Hecke, for a combined £237 million ($322 million).

Marmoush also represented Egypt at the 2026 World Cup, playing five games as the team reached the last 16 before being eliminated by eventual runners-up Argentina.
