Rescue teams are urgently searching for survivors following severe flash floods near Nepal's border with China. The floods, caused by a glacial collapse, swept through multiple communities on Wednesday, August 27, 2026.

Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reported that at least 165 people have died and 826 remain missing due to the Himalayan flash floods. Efforts to locate and assist those affected are ongoing along the Nepal-China border.

The disaster has prompted a large-scale response as authorities work to manage the aftermath of the catastrophic floods and mudslides.
