LaMelo Ball, guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has hired a personal driver to assist with his transportation after several reckless driving situations in Charlotte, his older brother Lonzo Ball revealed.

LaMelo's extensive car collection, including vehicles valued at around $1 million, has drawn attention for the frequency with which he damages them. Lonzo commented on this pattern, saying, "He'll buy a $1 million car and then just immediately f–k it up, I've never understood [that]." He added, "You just bought that? And then you ripped it up? You could've just got a beater."

During a recent episode of the "Curious Mike" podcast, Lonzo also discussed which member of the Ball family spends the most money, pointing to LaMelo while speaking with Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr.

Having a driver could reduce LaMelo's time behind the wheel and potentially lower his risk of accidents. Lonzo noted that while LaMelo "doesn’t get into accidents, he has a lot of situations on the road."

LaMelo, 25, moved to Minnesota after a trade earlier this offseason. His Charlotte penthouse had previously gone viral for its unique decor. Prior to joining the Timberwolves, LaMelo played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers traded him to the Utah Jazz in February 2026, but the Jazz waived him before he appeared in a game.
