SINGAPORE — On Monday, August 10, 2026, a 34-year-old man armed with a knife was disarmed by a 56-year-old male member of the public at Block 441B Clementi Avenue 3. The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m., when police received a call for assistance.

Upon arrival, officers found the man lying conscious with injuries believed to be self-inflicted. Witnesses told CNA that the man had stabbed himself repeatedly before being subdued and disarmed by the member of the public. Eyewitnesses also reported that someone attempted to tend to the injured man's wounds after he was disarmed.

The man was subsequently conveyed to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. The 56-year-old who disarmed him did not sustain injuries but was also taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that one person was taken to National University Hospital and another to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
