Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and a longtime supporter of former President Donald Trump, has stepped down from his role to dedicate himself fully to his campaign for governor of Minnesota. In a social media post on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, Lindell stated that the company is strong enough to continue without him and emphasized his commitment to the state: "I am putting Minnesota above myself, my title, and my business interests so I can give this campaign and the people of our state my full time, energy, and attention."

Lindell, who has received Trump's endorsement, has spent millions attempting to prove widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election. He said his campaign aims to disrupt Minnesota's political establishment, criticizing it for failing residents: "The establishment hasn’t done anything for us. Peope can’t afford to live and I wanna make Minnesota affordable again."

Currently, Lindell is involved in a lawsuit filed by state senate hopeful Dan Fiskum on July 22nd, 2026. Fiskum alleges that Lindell violated campaign finance laws by distributing pillows branded with "Mike Lindell for Governor." Lindell and his campaign maintain they consulted the state's campaign finance board beforehand and assert the pillows cost less than $5 each. He described the lawsuit as a politically motivated attack, stating, "This is all a hit job, we are not in violation at all. This is an attack on me running for governor, because the GOP didn’t like that I got Donald Trump’s endorsement."

In recent years, Lindell has paid millions in damages related to defamation lawsuits involving a former voting machine company employee and another individual who challenged data Lindell used to support false claims of election fraud.
