President Trump is traveling to California and Nevada this week to promote his economic message with stops in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, the president will attend a Republican National Committee dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. The following day, Wednesday, August 5th, he will visit Las Vegas to advocate for tax cuts under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, also known as the Working Families Tax Cut Act, at Red Rock Casino.
White House spokesperson Olivia Wales stated, “President Trump will visit California on Tuesday to tout his wins for the people of the Golden State despite failed Democrat leadership: the largest middle-class tax cut ever, the most secure border in American history, and a plummeting crime rate.” She added that the president intends to draw a sharp contrast between his agenda and the policies of Democrats like Governor Gavin Newsom.
The president and Governor Newsom previously met face-to-face during Trump's 2025 trip to California amid deadly wildfires in the southern part of the state.
Both California and Nevada are preparing for gubernatorial and competitive House races, including California’s 22nd, 48th, 13th, 21st, and 45th districts, and Nevada’s 1st, 3rd, and 4th districts.
Trump has a history of visits to these states, having toured Los Angeles early in his second term in 2015 and Las Vegas last April to promote his “No Tax on Tips” policy within the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
