These priorities align with findings from Blue Star Families' latest Military Family Lifestyle Survey, which identifies military spouse employment and pay as top concerns, followed by time away from family, child care, housing allowances, and children's education.

An estimated 1 million children currently have at least one parent serving on active duty, according to the government website Military One Source. President Trump has acknowledged the sacrifices of military spouses, noting in a Military Spouse Day proclamation signed in May that the nation's 250 years of freedom were made possible by the Armed Forces and the "selfless spouses" who have shared in the burden of military service across generations.

In addition to this commission, President Trump also signed a groundbreaking executive order allowing research into psychedelic drugs to treat PTSD and other mental health conditions, a move that has received support from veterans and public figures such as former Energy Secretary Rick Perry and retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell.
