Toyota Motor has started offering buyers of used cars the option to retrofit their vehicles with advanced safety features, including driver assistance and anti-theft technologies. This initiative is part of Toyota's strategy to boost sales at its group dealerships and create an additional revenue stream.
Currently, Toyota dealerships sell approximately 350,000 used cars annually, with a target to increase this figure to 550,000 vehicles by 2030. The retrofitting service is expected to enhance the appeal of older vehicles by equipping them with the latest safety technologies.
This development was reported from Nagoya, Japan, highlighting Toyota's ongoing efforts to innovate within the used-car market segment.
