On Saturday, August 1st, 2026, Israeli forces conducted overnight and predawn raids across the occupied West Bank, detaining seven Palestinians, including two children, according to Palestinian local sources.

The raids and settler violence have escalated with illegal outposts and frequent attacks reported across Ramallah, Hebron, and Nablus. Eleven Palestinians, including children, were injured in raids in Israel’s Nablus area.

Further south near Hebron, in Khashem al-Daraj, Israeli forces reportedly chased down and detained 11 workers, beating them during the process, local activist Osama Makhamreh said.

Separately, Israeli settlers assaulted a Palestinian man and his wife on their farmland. Later on the same day, three young Palestinian men were attacked with pepper spray on the road between al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, after settlers rammed their vehicle with an all-terrain vehicle. Amin Abu Aliya, head of the village council, described such attacks as almost daily occurrences along that stretch of road.

Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from Ramallah, described these incidents as a snapshot of widespread activity unfolding "in every direction" across the West Bank.

These developments echo recent United Nations warnings. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that settler violence and forced displacement are accelerating alongside plans to expand and legalize outposts, which the UN maintains have no legal validity under international law.
