Lento Law Group PC and Lento Law Firm (collectively "Lento Law"), a national law firm specializing in education matters, has sued former client Kris Emmanuel Estrada for defamation and other torts. Estrada posted negative reviews on multiple online platforms after retaining Lento Law as counsel for two legal matters in the fall of 2024.

Estrada's reviews criticized Lento Law for being unprofessional, unethical, uncommunicative, and providing inadequate legal services. He claimed, among other issues, that his follow-up emails were ignored, the firm failed to provide regular updates on his case, and that the firm misunderstood the nature of his matter under Title IX policies. Estrada also expressed frustration that Lento Law could not appear for him in DC Superior Court despite listing a Washington DC office address on their website.

Lento Law, whose sole employee and managing attorney is Lento, has a history of suspensions from practicing law in multiple jurisdictions due to numerous violations of professional conduct rules, both before and after the events in question. Despite this, the firm has pursued at least ten defamation cases in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in 2025 alone.

Estrada has moved to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that his statements are non-actionable opinions and protected public expressions under Pennsylvania's Uniform Public Expression Protection Act. He seeks dismissal of the claims and entitlement to attorneys' fees, court costs, and litigation expenses.

The case was recently decided by Judge Mia Roberts Perez in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
