Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed forgiveness toward students who hurled abuses at him during recent protests organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The demonstrations, which erupted over leaked exam papers, posed a significant political challenge to Modi's government and led to the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In a video message posted on Instagram on Friday night, Modi described the protesters as "misguided children" who deserve guidance rather than punishment or prolonged legal action. He acknowledged that some protesters used language "that would not suit any civilized society," including abuses directed at him and his late mother. Modi emphasized, "These are misguided children, and showing them the way is our duty."

The video message coincided with police receiving a report about a viral video showing a woman allegedly using abusive language against the prime minister during the Jantar Mantar protest. The girl, reportedly 15 years old, apologized in a video, stating she was influenced by others at the protest and regretted her remarks, according to the Indian newspaper Hindustan Times.

Following the protests, some individuals featured in widely circulated videos insulting the prime minister have faced online abuse from Modi supporters and police complaints. Authorities have requested social media platforms, including Meta and X, to remove content described as abusive and manipulated targeting the premier.
