Fanatics Fest, held a few weeks ago, featured a notable moment involving New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo, who performed a backflip that drew widespread attention. Skattebo, recovering from a significant leg injury last season, attempted the backflip but injured his knee upon landing, causing concern among Giants fans.
Head coach John Harbaugh later remarked that Skattebo could have "at least stuck the landing." According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, both Harbaugh and Giants GM Joe Schoen spoke with Skattebo about reducing his backflip attempts, a habit he also displayed at a charity softball game in May.
The Giants leadership reportedly told Skattebo, "Hey, you know those backflips you do? No, we agree, they are very badass — we're just going to need you to curtail them for a bit." They emphasized, "Hey, this part of your behavior needs to change for the good of the organization."
Skattebo is currently active in training camp as he continues his recovery.
