On Thursday, July 30th, 2026, President Donald Trump announced that Middle East mediators have reached an agreement to disarm Hamas, the Palestinian militant group responsible for a deadly attack on southern Israel on October 7th, 2023. The deal aims for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, a territory situated between Egypt and Israel that has been devastated by conflict.

Trump stated the disarmament process will be carried out in structured phases, culminating in the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. The agreement was mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey and facilitated through Trump’s Board of Peace, a multinational body established to resolve global conflicts.

“This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people,” Trump said on social media.
