TOKYO — On Friday, July 31st, 2026, Canada's Alimentation Couche-Tard announced plans to acquire Zabka Group, Poland's largest convenience store chain, for 32.6 billion zloty (approximately $8.7 billion). This acquisition marks Couche-Tard's expansion into the Eastern European market following the cancellation of a planned investment by Japan's Seven & i Holdings, owner of 7-Eleven.

Zabka operates around 10,000 locations across Poland, making it the country's top convenience store chain. The deal positions Couche-Tard to significantly increase its presence in the region.
