On Sunday, July 26th, 2026, Israel’s government approved the entry of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) into Gaza. The ISF is part of United States President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan and will operate in areas of the Palestinian enclave outside Israel’s military control.

An Israeli official stated that the security cabinet approved the necessary legal measures, and the ISF will operate in full coordination with the Israeli military, according to the Times of Israel. The force is expected to include approximately 200 personnel from friendly countries such as Uganda and Morocco, though no deployment timeline has been provided.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that since the implementation of the deal, 1,200 Palestinians have been killed and 3,888 wounded. A former Bulgarian foreign and defense minister described Israel’s approval as a critical part of the agreed framework to stabilize Gaza, support demilitarization, and facilitate the transition to effective Palestinian transitional administration under the NCAG.

This cabinet approval comes a day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's scheduled visit to Washington, DC.
