Thousands of Tunisians gathered in the capital city of Tunis on Saturday, July 26, 2026, calling for the resignation of President Kais Saied. Demonstrators carried signs with slogans such as "Get out," "Game over," and "Only Kaïs remains happy," expressing their opposition to the president's rule.

The protest coincided with the five-year anniversary of Saied's suspension of parliament on July 25, 2021, followed by its dissolution, actions that allowed him to govern by decree. Protesters denounced deteriorating living conditions, democratic backsliding, and state mismanagement.

Academic and sociology researcher Mouldi Gassoumi described the march as a call for citizens "to rediscover the values and principles of the Republic," lamenting that "these values began to be abandoned on 25 July 2021, since what I have repeatedly described as a 'coup d’état against the constitutional order.'"

The demonstration was part of ongoing protests against crackdowns on dissent, economic struggles, and restrictions on press freedom. Protesters also held portraits of imprisoned journalist Mourad Zghidi. His sister urged people to resist, stating that many are "oppressed and imprisoned" and emphasizing the need to defend the country's achievements amid great dangers.
