On Saturday, July 26th, 2026, at least one person was shot and another detained following reports of an active shooter at Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas. The Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 4 and the Humble Police Department responded to the incident at the mall located in the 20100 block of U.S. Highway.

According to a statement from the constable's office, "At this time, one victim has been reported shot, and one person has been detained." The Harris County Sheriff's Office confirmed deputies were working with partner agencies to secure the mall.

Authorities have not disclosed whether additional suspects are being sought. Law enforcement officers remain on the scene as the investigation continues. The sheriff's office urged the public to "please avoid the area and follow the directions of law enforcement personnel."

The incident resulted in at least one death and five wounded inside what is considered the state's largest shopping mall. Police and constables were seen searching inside the mall during the response.
