Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to travel to Washington, D.C., departing Israel on Monday, July 27, 2026, to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump the following day. Netanyahu will also attend the memorial service for the late Senator Lindsey Graham, a close friend and staunch supporter of the U.S.-Israel alliance.

Graham’s life and legacy will be commemorated on Tuesday, July 28, in Washington, D.C., and on Wednesday, July 29, in Columbia and Pickens County, South Carolina. Netanyahu described Graham as “a great friend of Israel and a cherished friend of mine,” emphasizing that “we have no better friend than Lindsey.” He added that Graham understood the inseparable security interests of Israel and America, calling him “one of Israel’s greatest friends” and “a great patriot.”

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee praised Graham’s unwavering support for the alliance, highlighting the shared Judeo-Christian values underpinning the partnership. Huckabee also warned that threats to Israel, such as those posed by Iranian proxies, ultimately endanger America.

Meanwhile, Central Command has conducted repeated airstrikes against Iranian military targets, and the Israel Defense Forces have been countering provocations from Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group based in Lebanon.

Netanyahu’s visit comes as Israel continues to address regional security challenges and honors the memory of a key ally in the U.S. Senate.
