Vance Luther Boelter, 58, who pleaded guilty to killing a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband and opening fire on another elected official and his spouse, was sentenced on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, to life in prison.
Boelter received two consecutive life sentences plus an additional 40 years in prison, all to be served consecutively, according to FOX 9. The sentencing took place in Hennepin County, Minnesota, where Boelter is held at the Hennepin County Jail.
The sentence resulted from a plea deal that allowed Boelter to avoid the death penalty.
