Jun Seki, the chief strategy officer for electric vehicles at Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer Foxconn, stated that advanced autonomous driving technology is expected to be adopted sooner than previously anticipated. Speaking to Nikkei Asia on July 21, 2026, in Tokyo, Seki projected that Level 4 and higher autonomous driving systems will become mainstream by 2040 as the technology becomes more affordable and reliable.
