Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out drone attacks overnight on Wednesday, July 22nd 2026, targeting Wildberries warehouses in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions for the second time within a week. The attacks caused fires at the warehouse sites, injuring 15 people—10 in Krasnodar and five in Nevinnomyssk—and forcing both facilities to halt operations.

Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim, described by domestic outlets as Russia's wealthiest woman, stated that employees had been evacuated in advance. Several injured workers were hospitalized, while others received treatment on site. Regional authorities declared a local state of emergency due to the extensive fires. The Russia Ministry of Emergency Situations deployed helicopters to assist in extinguishing the blaze.

Separately, Miratorg, Russia's largest meat producer, reported that three of its plants in the western Bryansk region were also targeted overnight. A security guard was injured, and one facility sustained significant damage. The company has established a hotline for relatives and announced compensation for families of casualties.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Wildberries had been supplying the Russian military with parts for drones and other equipment, marking the clearest official Ukrainian explanation for targeting the company's logistics network.

Kim's ties to the Kremlin have been under scrutiny since 2024, following a controversial merger between Wildberries and the outdoor advertising firm Russ Group, a deal endorsed by President Vladimir Putin.

These strikes are reportedly aimed at imposing economic costs on the Russian state and disrupting funding sources for Moscow's military efforts amid the ongoing conflict that began with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in early 2022.
