The United States carried out another round of strikes against Iran early on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026, marking the tenth consecutive night of attacks targeting Iranian military command centres. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of these strikes at 01:00 GMT.

Explosions were reported in several locations across Iran, including Qeshm Island—the largest island in the Strait of Hormuz—as well as the port cities of Bandar Abbas, Bandar Lengeh, and Bushehr. Additional explosions were heard in the southwestern city of Shiraz around 1am local time (21:30 GMT) and in Abdanan in Iran’s western Ilam province, according to the Mehr News Agency citing local officials.

In response, Iran struck US military assets in the Gulf region and launched attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that the strikes hit a long-range radar site, a telecommunications centre, satellite receiving systems, and a missile defence radar of the US military in Kuwait.

The IRGC also stated that "massive fires" had broken out on two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments.

The White House informed Al Jazeera that the US would continue its attacks unless former President Trump decides otherwise.
