Democrats have called on President Donald Trump to halt the escalating conflict with Iran after the deaths of three US troops in recent Iranian strikes. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut accused Trump of having “frighteningly lost control of this war” amid growing concerns over rising casualties.

Since the war's resurgence on February 28, at least 17 US service members have been killed, with nearly 100 injured in the last two weeks of intensified strikes. More than 1,700 Iranian civilians are also estimated to have died.

The conflict reignited after Trump last week abandoned a memorandum of understanding with Iran agreed upon in June. Despite the ongoing violence, US forces launched their 10th consecutive wave of attacks against Iranian targets.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards reported targeting US military sites, including air defense systems and a radar installation in Bahrain and Kuwait. Additionally, a tanker crew in the Strait of Hormuz reported being struck by an unknown projectile. In response, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan activated defenses to repel the attacks.

In related political news, Darline Graham, interim senator from South Carolina and sister of the late Lindsey Graham, announced plans to run for a full Senate term following Trump's endorsement. She confirmed her decision in an interview with Sean Hannity.

Separately, the White House announced that Trump is imposing 50% tariffs on most Canadian goods, citing unfair discrimination against US cars, alcohol, and dairy products by Canada.
