Russian attacks and drone strikes over recent days have killed at least two children and injured dozens more across Ukraine, while severely damaging three critical humanitarian aid warehouses, UN agencies reported on Monday, July 20th, 2026.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that attacks killed and injured dozens in Kyiv, a recreation site in the Odesa region, and in Zaporizhzhia, where a drone strike reportedly destroyed a Red Cross vehicle. Matthias Schmale, UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine, described the situation as "devastating."

Humanitarian warehouses were hit during the deadly weekend attacks, including those operated by the World Food Programme (WFP) in Dnipro and the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Kyiv region. The WFP warehouse was struck four times by drone attacks, marking the seventh assault on its clearly marked assets in Ukraine over the past three months, with over 90 such strikes recorded in the last two years.

A UNICEF-contracted warehouse in Bilohorodka was also attacked on Sunday. At the time, it contained more than 106,000 items valued at approximately $3.9 million, including generators, drinking water, hygiene kits, and water storage tanks essential for UNICEF's response in Ukraine. The full impact of the attack is still being assessed.

Despite these challenges, a UN spokesperson confirmed that emergency aid was delivered to frontline communities in Kherson, including 11 metric tonnes of water, hygiene and dignity kits, first-aid kits, and medicines.

UNICEF expressed deep sadness over the deaths of two children and injuries to at least 50 others in attacks across Ukraine in the past week, including in Kyiv. The agency described the attacks as part of "yet another horrifying, sleepless night for children," with air raid alarms and explosions lasting for hours.

UN agencies have condemned the killings and called for an immediate end to hostilities.
