Former CNN anchor Don Lemon compared President Donald Trump's MAGA movement to the Nazi Party during an interview on the "Can't Be Censored" podcast on Wednesday, July 20th, 2026. Lemon described MAGA as "the closest thing to the modern version of the Nazi Party," adding, "It’s the closest thing, without the Holocaust and all that stuff."

Lemon further claimed that supporters of President Trump are motivated by White supremacy and power rather than economic concerns, stating, "No matter how many facts and how much information you give them about this presidency, about the policies, they don’t change their minds because they’re really not voting for the price of eggs. They’re voting for White supremacy. They’re voting for power."

The comparison came after podcast hosts Travis Dhanraj and Karman Wong asked Lemon to define MAGA and speculate on the future of the Republican Party after Trump’s political tenure. During the interview, Lemon also revealed he is considering a potential presidential run in 2028.

Lemon revisited his April 2023 departure from CNN, alleging that network leaders wanted to remove him because he was "the gay Black guy." CNN disputed his account, stating at the time that the network and Lemon had "parted ways." A CNN spokesperson acknowledged, "Don was an important member of the CNN family for nearly 20 years."
