American boxer Hannah Rapp, 26, was killed on Saturday, July 19th, 2026, in Brazos County, Texas, after being hit by a car while cycling. Authorities identified the driver as 31-year-old Charles Medina, who has been charged with manslaughter, defined under Texas law as recklessly causing a person's death.

According to the Brazos County sheriff's office, Rapp and another cyclist were riding on a local road when Medina passed them, stopped, reversed his vehicle, and struck Rapp. Emergency responders transported her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Rapp was a rising star in professional boxing, having won eight and drawn one of her first nine bouts, and held the North American Boxing Federation featherweight title. In June 2026, she challenged Tiara Brown of Fort Myers, Florida, for the World Boxing Council (WBC) women's featherweight championship but lost by unanimous decision.

Tiara Brown paid tribute to Rapp online, calling her "the best dance partner I have ever faced as a pro." WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán described Rapp as "an exceptional boxer, but above all, an invaluable member of our boxing family." Internet personality and boxing promoter Jake Paul also honored her as a "warrior" on social media.

The Brazos County sheriff's office stated the case remains under active investigation.
