Homeowners of Wang Fuk Court, a Hong Kong estate affected by a deadly fire last November, gathered on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, for an extraordinary general meeting arranged by Hop On Management Company, the government-appointed administrator. The meeting, held via live broadcast at community centres in Tai Po, Tin Shui Wai, Kai Tak, and Wah Kwai, focused on reports about the handover progress from former incorporated owners and updates on Wang Chi House.

Wang Fuk Court was the only one of the estate’s eight towers spared in the blaze that claimed 168 lives last November. Despite months of anticipation, residents voiced frustration that crucial agenda items, including a key building examination report, were excluded from the meeting.

Toby Wong, a resident of Wang Tai House in his thirties attending the meeting at the Tai Po Community Centre, said he was disappointed to find some items proposed by residents omitted “after six months of waiting for a meeting to be convened.”

The meeting highlighted ongoing concerns about compensation and the condition of the flats following the tragic fire.
